– Working parents make up a large part of the professional workforce in the U.S. Parents experience unique needs and stressors, with many worrying that they are failing at home and at work. Expecting and new parents may face unique mental health challenges through Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders and deserve adequate support and resources in the workplace. - 3 objectives – 1. Identify the unique needs impacting parents in the workplace. - 2. Gain an understanding of Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders. -3. Recognize the role of EAP in supporting the mental health needs of working parents. – Annia Palacios is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). She serves as the Director of the EAP for JPS Hospital in Fort Worth and also owns a private practice specializing in perinatal mood & anxiety disorders to help new and expecting moms find balance in life and motherhood.
