EVENT TIMELINE: 6:30p.m. Dinner Served7:00p.m. Bingo Begins (10 games with a total of $1,000 in cash prizes)8:30p.m. Family Dance Party & Dessert Station9:00p.m. Silent Auction EndsABOUT THE BENEFICIARY, OFFICER JOSHUA ROTARIUS: Pulse first responder, Metro SWAT team member, Maitland Police and Dommerich Elementary School Resource Officer Joshua Rotarius lost his home in a catastrophic house fire on July 1, 2022. Officer Rotarius was asleep when lightning struck his Sorrento home; luckily his silver Labrador Retriever, Null, frantically barked, saving them both from the fire that quickly engulfed the home. Officer Rotarius was airlifted to Orlando Health for smoke inhalation and minor burns, and released a few days later. He and Null also sustained minor burns; physically, they are both doing well today. The home was a complete loss. While insurance will cover some of the costs of home and its contents, the current cost to demo and rebuild exceeds the payments from his carrier. As a community, we will help Officer Rotarius rebuild and fund the financial gaps that insurance has left. Why? As one of the first law enforcement officers to arrive on scene June 12, 2016 at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Officer Rotarius has a proven track record of courageously risking his life to help others. He saved countless lives running into the nightclub, administering first aid and moving critical patients to makeshift triage areas before paramedics arrived. Specially trained for tactical response, Officer Rotarius serves Maitland and it's neighboring communities as part of the Metro SWAT team. In addition, he protects the students and staff of Dommerich Elementary School in his capacity as a SRO. On a daily basis, Officer Rotarius prevents criminal activity while serving as a liaison between families, educators and law enforcement. DRESS CODE: Smart casual or family date night chic attire suggested. Sport coats suggested for gentlemen over the age of 8.Please, no athletic attire.
