Munaku Magazine exists to create a more positive and beautiful representation of Black women in the media. Our next issue is focused entirely on powerhouse women in Philadelphia — we invite you to come celebrate with us as we release this new issue.
This issue draws inspiration from the #softblackgirl trend and explores ways in which Black women can embrace softness in their day-to-day lives. We’re excited to share interviews with Camille Bell of Pound Cake, Susan Slawson and Facetta Greene of the Dell Music Center, Christa Barfield of Farmer Jawn, Esther Appiah of Appiah Village Market, and Lynette Medley of No More Secrets'; art by Dorianna Diaz and more..
What to expect:
*Drinks & mingling
*Words from Munaku founder Rutendo Magade
*Karaoke and photobooth fun!
Munaku Magazine was founded to address the lack of adequate representation of Black women in mainstream media. There is so much more depth, beauty and strength in our community than current media sources would have us believe. Come join us in this mission!
