guitarist looking to start post-punky psych band

I've been living in Lake County for almost two years now and I haven't been in a band all this time. Itching to jam with someone and see where it goes. Ideally looking for someone down to play shows and start developing a sound through covers and originals. I guess I'd describe my style as mostly psychedelic garage mixed with folky jazz now, but I've generally been in 'indie' type bands for a long time. I wanna make people dance. About me: 30, I've played bass for a couple of bands in Chicago. Used to play live regularly but haven't really since covid. Smoke weed everyday. Influences: Pavement, Sonic Youth, The Smiths, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Guided By Voices, etc. I'm into almost everything though-- my best friend since Kindergarten is a metalhead so I've grown up well versed in that stuff. Actually, being metal would be pretty tight too.
