BAGGAGE EXPRESS LLC 5383 IDDINGS ROAD WEST MILTON OH 45383 937-776-2565 [email protected] Baggage Express LLC operates at airports to deliver delayed baggage from the airport to the passenger’s home or hotel etc. Our normal operation is to pick up at the airport several times a day on a scheduled basis. We call these scheduled pickups, sweeps. Each sweep has one or two drivers with one of them being the lead and responsible for the sweep. We use an app that shows what deliveries we have ahead of time so we normally know if the lead will need the back up or additional back up drivers before their sweep. The lead is responsible for the sweep and also to make the routes worthwhile for their back up driver. After collecting the deliveries from each airline that has deliveries on their sweep, the deliveries are divided as is practical by the lead driver. On sweeps that normally need more than one driver they work as a team on a long term basis. Deliveries then are loaded in their vehicles and delivered in route with normally the closest first and the farthest last. Compensation: Deliveries are paid based on distance. We use 7 zones which are 10 mile circles from the airport. Zone A would be 0 to 10 miles, zone B 11 to 20 miles, etc. After 70 miles we pay mileage one way. Each delivery pays separately so if you have several deliveries each one pays full commission even though they may all be going in the same direction or even to the same area. Contractors can commit to as few or as many scheduled sweeps as they choose but I ask that if you commit to being available for a sweep that you do your best to be always available for that sweep. We will work with your availability. Many independent contractors work several gigs at the same time and thats fine except I ask that while you are delivering baggage you do not let other obligations delay your deliveries but that you will deliver in route as practically as you can. As a contractor you are fully responsible for the baggage in your possesion until it is signed for or left per instructions and a photo is taken. Contractors will need a dependable van or car,(mini vans work best for this ) insurance, a smart phone, and gps or a great map collection. Also need to be able to pass a FBI/TSA background check. Before you respond to this letter let me say that we are looking for a few contractors that can work independently but also as a team. The pay is per delivery and a delivery can have up to 2 passengers and 4 bags going to the same address, however most all deliveries have 1 or 2 bags and only 1 passenger. How many deliveries on a route ? It varies alot but most routes have between 5 and 15 deliveries. Do the deliveries go all directions ? Yes but we try to make the routes as practical as we can but they are different everyday. What is the key to making this a great job ? Attitude is everything, A willingness to work and be available is the determining factor most of the time. I have seen it continually over the years that a driver with a good attitude and flexibility with the schedule always does well over time. Can I drive a car or a pick up truck and do this ? Yes but a mini van is the practical vehicle for this and preferably one that the back seats fold into the floor. How do we get paid and how often ? Pay is direct deposit. Work week is Sunday to Saturday and paid the following Friday How are the deliveries given to the drivers ? We use a schedule with a primary and secondary driver and backup drivers as needed. All drivers are contractors and tell us their availability, we hire to fill in the schedule as needed. Will I get a list of my deliveries for payment ? Each week, normally on Monday or Tuesday you will get a commission statement by email listing all your deliveries for that week and the amount of your Friday direct deposit. What if the passenger is not home and we do not have an authorization to leave the bags ? Undeliverable bags are returned to the airline and we have them sign for it and the driver keeps the paperwork with them and sends a picture of it to our office with explanation written on the delivery order and the driver will be paid for taking the delivery back to the airline. Is there room for advancement ? All of our station managers started and remain as drivers. It is rare for a position to open itude is what counts most. Do you reimburse for parking and tolls ? Yes
