Description

Swimming and Storytelling has driven the creation of wonderful communities, connecting folks from all over. Like the recent NYT article that highlighted swim stories, story is a powerful act that communicates ideas, passions, and each individual's unique experience with the world. Each of you come to a coldwater or swim practice with a rich history, your own embodied experience, and a unique perspective. It's time to tell that story! This class will be your guide to explore and unlock your own coldwater swimming experience and will create the space to get it down on paper and out into the world. With an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College, Kelsy finds writing is a beautiful act of self expression and believes engaging with one’s own creativity is a powerful source of one’s life force. In this lunchtime meet up, we'll explore personal storytelling with prompts and quick writes, that will get you some immediate usable content and a tangible piece to commemorate your coldwater experience.  Date: September 2 Time: 12:00-1:00 In person: Coveside Coffee, 28 Vannah Ave, Portland, ME   $20 -Includes a Coveside coffee or treat! (appx $5) Via Zoom: link with registration $15- you'll have to check your leftover morning coffee pot ;)
