Description

Across the country, riverfront buildings just like the Stanley-National and Lawrence Brothers buildings are finding new life through a variety of uses: Retail, hospitality, residential, and more. The revitalization efforts along Sterling’s riverfront are well underway, and the recent interest by Gorman and Company to redevelop both the Lawrence and Stanley-National buildings are further proof that the riverfront is an asset worth building upon. But don’t just take our word for it – come see for yourself! We are Studio GWA, and together with Gorman and Company and the Sterling Riverfront Commission we’d like to invite you to take a tour of the Stanley-National building. Learn the latest about the city's riverfront planning efforts, hear Gorman's vision of an all-inclusive riverfront redevelopment plan for both Lawrence and Stanley, and share your input for what these spaces could become! Whether you are a former employee, a commuter who drives by the buildings, or just curious, we hope you’ll come to the tour with a fresh set of eyes and reimagine the buildings with us. Details: IMPORTANT: All participants must be 18 years of age or older and complete a waiver prior to the tour. The waiver can be downloaded here; print waivers will be available to review and sign. Meet us at the Gorman/Studio GWA booth at Dale Park on Thursday, August 25th at 5:30 p.m. during the Pop-Up Market. We’ll walk over to the Stanley-National building shortly after 5:30. There will be a lot of walking, so bring your walking shoes! If you prefer to drive, please park at the northwest corner of the Stanley-National building near the ‘Safety 1st/Buckle Up!’ gateway sign. The tour will last approximately one hour. NOTE: The Stanley-National is not ADA-accessible. Please take this into consideration before registering.Below is a simple map of our meeting points and our walking route.
