Michael Eastman to speak on Shyman encounters

TreeCity Arts is pleased to host Artist Michael H. Eastman on August 24th at 6:30 p.m. at thegallery, 112 Pleasant Street, Berlin. The title of the presentation, ‘I met them....and this is where they took me’, tells the story of Michael’s lifelong encounters with the beings called Shyman, also known by their North American, Northwestern name, Sasquatch. He will speak about the Jajiboba, a supernatural being who frightens himself and others by how he looks, now a Shyman. There will be photos depicting their tree structures, and audio recordings of their vocalizations, with an interesting surprise. “The summer before I started kindergarten, we were Hornpout fishing and these screams coming from the shoreline disturbed the adults so badly we went back to camp. I was afraid to get out of the boat because I knew they were monsters. Then, in 1973, I had my first encounter while sleeping out on the porch, and I can honestly say, that not one day has gone by that they haven’t crept into my thoughts. Not one”, said Eastman.
