This program will explore multiple ways art can be used to enhance the lives of residents throughout the healthcare continuum. By showcasing “old-time” skills such as woodworking, pottery-making, and masonry, participants will gain a hands-on understanding of how art creates purpose, pleasure, and independence for people in communal healthcare settings. Theatre, dance, painting, and music will also be used to teach participants to incorporate art into their homes. Resident’s lives will be enhanced, giving them genuine purpose, and the opportunity for new learning and continued growth.
