Let's start a noise rock/post-punk band

We are a bass player and guitar player looking for more musicians to fill out the lineup for a new band. Genre labels are strange and slippery things, but the stuff we have been playing and planning for falls vaguely around the areas of post-punk or noise rock. Some of the influences we've talked about with this project include Pixies, METZ, The Jesus Lizard, Tom Waits, A Place to Bury Strangers, Swans, Big Black, and The Birthday Party. Of course this will evolve and expand as some more people get in the mix. We both have jobs and other responsibilities, so we aren't going to drop everything and go on tour. But we are looking to put in enough consistency and commitment to make something we are proud of. We want to rehearse regularly, write music we really like, record it, and play shows as they come up. Regarding logistics: We have been playing in my garage in Falls City, and will likely continue to unless something better becomes available. We usually jam on weekday evenings, but may also throw in a weekend rehearsal in the future if the schedules align. Since we are going to be breathing heavily in close quarters on a regular basis, and would like to be able to book shows in the area, we are only looking for other vaccinated folks.
