As with past events, we’ll have a lot of fun and informative exhibits to inform you about the important work we do every day. Plus, you’ll get to see first-hand the construction at the treatment plant. Did you ever wonder where that dirty water from your toilet, sink and bathtub goes? Wastewater from your homes and businesses is collected through sewer pipes and eventually makes its way to ALCOSAN’s treatment plant on the Pittsburgh’s Northside. At our annual Open House, you can learn about wastewater collection, flow and treatment, and how we recycle that dirty water into clean water that’s deposited into the Ohio River. You’ll also have an opportunity to hear about (and see) our progress on the Clean Water Plan. From the Plant Expansion to the Regional Tunnel System, we are excited to share our progress and what the future holds. As always, this event is free and open to all ages, and we'll even give you lunch! Keep an eye on our website for more information in the coming weeks.
