Description
Fibre Tech Inc. In Largo, FL We are looking to hire three more technicians to join our training program. We manufacture our own product so experience with swimming pools is not needed; as we will provide all the training you need. Starting pay is $15.00 an hour until training is complete then you can be moved to piece work. Our technicians who perform piece work make $45,000-$90,000 each year, this depends on their work schedule, as we accommodate our piece workers. We know family is important and try to help our employees achieve their goals outside of work. We can work with your schedule within reason. The job requires roughly 40 hours a week once you move out of training. A license and a decent driving record are a must. We will check with our insurance carrier to make sure you are insurable prior to hiring, to avoid wasting any of your time. You will get a company truck to get to the job site and move materials to and from. We have hired many roofers, but tradesmen of all types make a great fit! If you can provide a good reference as a pool or boat builder starting pay, will be higher. Below is the typical flow of each job site. Warning: We live in Florida working on pools is insanely hot work. Stay hydrated and take breaks as necessary, but managing to work in the brutal heat is a must. Fair warning for those sensitive to heat. Day 1: Drain the swimming pool. Day 2: Prep swimming pool for glass. This is done with an 8" or 4" angle grinder and 24 grit sandpaper. A quick scuff coat is all that is needed. Day 3 and 4: Laminate pool with a hand layup of fiberglass. We use regular paint rollers, but this is where you can make the pool look perfect. The following day after everything is laid up is where you can fix any issues with new fiberglass, and do an additional scratch grind to prepare for your topcoat. Day 5: Topcoat swimming pool. Once you get your glasswork looking good and it is structurally sound you can do a quick top coat. Most jobs can be completed within a one-week timeframe if you are able to manage your time at the job site. The above description on an average size pool will net our piece workers at their starting rate of $900.00. You should be able to be done in the one-week timeframe. Should any issues arise with your work, in terms of extra prep, you will be compensated. Training should take roughly four to six weeks if you are able to pick up the trade faster and your work is clean we will advance you quickly. There is no minimum needed time to complete the program.
