This position is fully on-site located in our laboratory. Do you have the ability to grasp new information quickly? We are currently expanding our Lab Services staff to meet the growing needs of the diamond industry. Responsibilities for Lab Assistant, Weights & Measure: Operates a gemological measuring device and weighs stones on an electronic scale. Operates a laser inscription device, marks and cleans stones. Performs simple gemological tests. Packages stones in individual cassettes and attaches labels to identify and allow tracking of stones through the grading process. Utilizes computer mouse, scanning devices and keyboard to capture data while operating all gemological testing devices. Measures ultraviolet fluorescence using a measuring device. Cleans stones utilizing a solution and appropriate cleaning equipment. Cross-trains to work in other Laboratory support areas. Communicates effectively, gets along with coworkers and management, and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure. Responsibilities for Lab Assistant, Transport: Receive incoming stone shipments from clients if applicable Prepare stones for shipment/delivery after service completion Perform item intake process (courier shipments) if applicable Receive, sort and organize stones in accordance with the procedures if applicable Perform outweigh and box/pack stones in preparation for delivery to clients Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Detail oriented Mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills required Why Should You Apply?
