NEW DIRECTIONS for people with disabilities, inc. a not for profit is looking for volunteer chaperones (Tour Guides), to support and assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) on quality group tours to exciting destinations.
We are accepting applications for volunteers for many trips throughout 2022 into 2023. Some of the exciting destinations we need chaperones for are: Disneyland, Sea World, Dude Ranches, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Knottās Berry Farm, Nashville, and many, many more! Experience with persons with IDD preferred but not necessary. New Directions is based in Santa Barbara, but we need volunteer chaperones from all over California and neighboring states.
Requirements include being fully vaccinated for Covid-19, having a respect for people with disabilities, a love for travel, professional appearance and pleasant disposition, good communication skills, accurate attention to detail, able to drive, good health with ability to lift 50 pounds, strong stamina, and a top-notch attitude.
Further requirements will include: CPR/First aid certification, and criminal (police fingerprint) clearance, reference and background checks.
This is a volunteer position. All tour expenses are paid for volunteers.
