So y'know I spent my early 20s in the "vegan chilli" circuit before graduating to doing records on (or touring as part of the band for bands on) Matador, Merge, Dangerbird, Secretly Canadian, etc... a lot of backing singer/songwriters and the ilk. I'm primarily a guitarist. I've been working on some ideas and would like to get in a room and try it out and need a bassist who "gets it". THINK: Cloakroom. FACS. Unwound. City of Caterpillar. Every 90s to turn of the century 'chicago' band. Psychic Paramount. PiL. Torch. But also a lot of further out krautrock thru new age minimalism. I could list more but y'know that should give a decent starting point to where I'm trying to pull from. Heavy but make it "art". I have a vision of sorts but I don't want to box it in tooooo much y'know? Lets talk.
