Description
I have a lovely yellow tabby (named Yella) that I need to rehome. He is approximately 9 years old. He is neutered. He’s been with us since he was a kitten. We recently adopted a dog and Yella is not adjusting well. He has started peeing outside his litterbox. We’ve taken him to the vet who says it is likely anxiety. He has never done this before. We’ve tried several of the vet's suggestions - hormone shots and Prozac. The issue has lessened, but it hasn’t been resolved. I am sad to rehome him, but it doesn’t seem fair for him to be scared in his own home. Rehoming the dog isn’t an option.
He truly is a lovely cat - he is incredibly affectionate and sweet-tempered. He comes when he is called and would love nothing more than to sit on a lap all day. He is still healthy and playful. If I were reading this I’d have concerns about possibly adopting a cat that doesn’t always use his litterbox. His vet and I are confident that he will stop this behavior if he is in an environment where he feels safe. I am also happy to agree to take him back if the problem persists. I really want him to be happy and comfortable. He’d probably do best as an only pet. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you’d like to meet him.
