Description
My husband works, my son gets ssi due to autism and I get state disability while I apply for social security due to extensive spinal reconstruction & spinal cord injuries as well as immune dysfunction. We have struggled in the current inflation to make ends meet and just have not managed to do it enough to pay all of our bills on time. We have looked for a cheaper place or affordable housing but due to the severe shortage of housing in Spokane, our two elderly dogs, and my medical debt arising out of my spinal surgeries (about $800k of which we owe $250k) we have not been able to find anything else.
We have an eviction hearing on the 18th and because I grew up in foster care and my husband's mother is an alcoholic/addict neither of us have family to turn to. I'm afraid we are facing the streets. No criminal history and nobody in our house does drugs or drinks (although my husband does smoke cigarettes occasionally if we ever have extra money).
I'm looking for either a two room tent or two one room tents, sleeping bags for 3 people, propane canisters and a large cooler so we can survive out there. I may have found some private property that we can camp on that is close enough to town my husband can still get to work but we don't have any camping equipment. We can clean up old stuff if it is just dirty but we need structurally sound, safe tents. It looks as if we will be evicted before our SSI comes in so we don't have sleeping bags at all either. I'm also looking for a cot or maybe air mattress due to my spine issues I don't think I will do well sleeping on the ground.
If anyone has any that they can donate to our family we would be forever grateful. We would have to pick up via city bus or work out a drop off here in East Central. Could possibly spare $5 gas for drop offs.
Thank you for your consideration.
We are working with DSHS and SNAP and we have a Volunteer lawyers attorney but thank you for your advice. 😊
