Description

This fall, we are hosting a special training in Vermilion. Are you a part of a Main Street Program, a volunteer, a committee member, a board member or better yet, the Executive Director? You should attend this meeting. We are going to be covering some topics that get organizations tripped up and leave them languishing. AgendaThursday, September 1511:00 AM | Registration 12:00 PM | Fundraising Best Practices – Idea Lightning Round from Local Programs Funding is always one our top priorities for program survival. We’ll start the discussion with an idea round-table on how fundraising efforts shifted and evolved during and after COVID. How did you get creative to still earn revenue when everything changed? 1:00 PM | Monthly Reporting – How to Get Really Good Stats and How to Use Them Each month, Heritage Ohio accredited Main Street programs are required to report reinvestment statistics. We’ll discuss why this is vital to tracking outcomes, and how it can be of great use for your local program. HO Staff will walk attendees through the entire reporting process, answer questions, and help you get the data you need to be successful. 2:00 PM | Main Street Committees – Or Lack Thereof! Committee volunteers should be the backbone of your local program, but many times, we struggle with getting help, and in delegating the workplans. We’ll review why these community volunteers are critical to the success of your Main Street program. 3:00 PM | Roles and Responsibilities – Who is Supposed to Be Doing What in Your Organization? What does the board do? Why do you need paid staff? Once you have paid staff, does that mean all the volunteers take a nap? You will learn the roles and responsibilities at each level of programming, how they work together and best practices on keeping them fresh and functional. 4:00 PM | Happy Hour – Third Thursday in Downtown Vermilion Vermilion is an Accredited Ohio Main Street Community and they will be hosting their Third Thursday event in downtown following our training. Please plan to stick around for drinks and dinner on your own, or with a group of new friends. Find your newest favorite place in Vermilion.
