JOB DESCRIPTION Farm manager of a pistachio farming operation in Madera County, responsible for the day to day operation of various pistachio blocks and managing three ranch foremen. Duties include upkeep and supervision of irrigation systems, fertilizer applications, pest management, weed management, tillage, maintenance of farm equipment, and employee supervision at each ranch. RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee pistachio orchards and determine orchard tasks such as pruning, discing, irrigation, fertilizing, pest control, and weed management. - Ensure that ranch foremen have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their farming tasks. - Proper maintenance and repair of farm equipment. - Maintain drip irrigation systems, including pumps, wells, and filters. - Supervise ranch foremen and schedule farming tasks. QUALIFICATIONS - Agricultural background preferred with minimum two years of experience. - Self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision. - Good problem-solving skills and the know-how to find solutions when the need arises. - Ability to plan and schedule ahead to address short and long term needs. - Be teachable and coachable with a positive attitude. - Valid CA Driver’s License with clean record. - Some Spanish speaking ability is a plus.
