Position Description The essential duties of this position will be to perform inspections, installs, repairs, and rebuilds on plant operating equipment, by way of reading and interpreting equipment manuals, drawings, and work orders. Emergency and unscheduled repairs may also be required. The position will be responsible for preventative maintenance and routine checks on production equipment to include: pneumatics and production machines, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, fillers, agitators, and motors. This position also requires that the Mechanic diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment.  This will be accomplished through the safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools; any candidate must have demonstrated experience with appropriate safety and PPE requirements for each job. Qualifications Must be able to disassemble and rebuild multiple types of equipment. Working with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding (Wire Feed & Rod), as well as Oxygen/ Acetylene, and Plasma Cutting. Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and positive team attitude. Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Willingness to work around large manufacturing equipment and furnaces, as well as operate heavy equipment as necessary. Effectively handle multiple priorities with minimum supervision. Support LEAN implementation and actively engage in lean activities Willing and able to work varying shifts (on-call), including but not limited to: weekends, nights, and/or overtime as required. This is a full-time position. Experience & Education The qualified candidate must have a minimum of two years previous mechanical experience working in an industrial setting or within a manufacturing field. Strong preference will be given to those with demonstrated capabilities in working with pneumatics, production machines, hydraulics, and pumps. Knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite a plus, and those with prior PLC and HVAC experience would be given priority.
