Job Summary: Responsible for facilitating compliance with EH&S policies and procedures in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Assist EH&S Manager with the planning, implementation and oversight of the OXARC Injury Illness Prevention Plan. This position is responsible for administrative office functions and assisting with special projects, risk management concerns, and assist with maintaining OSHA, EPA compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • The Safety Officer will be responsible for assisting the EH&S Manager with the development, implementation, and management of environmental health and safety programs. • Promote, monitor and enforce OXARC EH&S policies and procedures in accordance with current regulations. • Conduct safety and environmental inspections and observations to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health concerns. • Investigate accidents that occur onsite identifying causal factors, root cause, and assign risk rating. Incident follow-up to ensure corrective measures are assigned, implemented and effective. • Complete or assist with job hazard analysis and regular review of completed Job Hazard Analysis. • Conduct and document regular safety meetings or trainings as required by OSHA, EPA, and OXARC’s I2P2. • Onsite management and implementation of OXARC’s Process Safety Management and Response Management Plan. Including but not limited to; MOC, PHA, incidents, and documentation of maintenance. • Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment. • Performs other EH&S related duties as assigned.
