We are two experienced and fully equipped musicians (drummer and guitarist) looking for more bandmates to form the next great project in Ithaca. About us: we are in our early 30s, have full-time jobs, and have independently been part of a very eclectic selection of original and cover bands, ranging from punk, jazz, progressive rock, metal, pop, Latin American folk, and math rock, since our teens, in NY, CA, and abroad. Drummer's influences include any talented drummer with involved beat patterns. Asynchronous beats are good, and the more cymbals the better! Guitarist's influences include odd time signatures, spacey sounds, and Einstein's theory of relativity. He plays Dream Theater songs for fun. We have our own space to practice in town. No rent, no lease, no neighbors who complain. We also have our own home-based equipment for recording. If the band grows, we'd be happy to lease a bigger practice room. About you: fully committed to weekly or bi-weekly practice. Fully committed to contributing with ideas if we end up writing originals. More important than the instrument you play or sing is what ideas you bring. Originals are the long term project. Covers are also welcome, especially if we play them in a fun way.
