Culinary Captain Cloth & Flame creates temporary venues and culinary experiences wherever they can be imagined while working to conserve land by paying our partner properties for low-impact use. Our events combine great food and unexpected locations with immersive programming to foster collisions in a new way. We believe that people only care about that which they have a connection to, and we aim to establish more of these connections. Connection with a place, with others, and with themselves. What We’re Looking for: The Culinary Captain’s primary role is to be the FNB field manager at our events. This person works with our clients to ensure all culinary-related details needed are firmed up, relays this information to the chef and bar teams, and ensures that all items are in place for a successful and memorable event experience for our guests. We are looking for someone who is comfortable directing and managing a team of service staff on event days, a master communicator with clients, and is passionate and excited about creating cutting-edge events and dining experiences in unexpected places will thrive in this position. Job Duties include but are not limited to the following: Communication with clients ahead of the event to confirm final guest count, menu selections, dietary restrictions, timeline, and seating chart details Provide friendly and courteous customer service at all times Management of front of house staff in the field Creation of packlists for FNB items Field manager for setting up of kitchen, tabletop, expo, and clean up Keeping event running smoothly and on time Uphold high standards for service to deliver a top-notch dining experience Have an eye for detail and design to ensure we are crafting beautiful events at all points of service Be able to think on your feet to solve problems that arise and keep calm through stressful situations Be a leader in everything you do Job Requirements: The position requires a minimum of 1-2 years of off-site catering or restaurant expo experience, 1-2 years of event experience Ability to balance being in the field at events along with administrative tasks and client communication Comfortability and familiarity working with Google Suite, and other technology to streamline admin tasks for event preparations Ability to manage a team of servers Ability to keep a calm demeanor while also being able to deliver real-time feedback to the team to ensure standards are being met and service is constantly being improved upon Night and weekend availability a must A clean driving record and reliable transportation are a must Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time (12+ hours) Able/willing to travel in-state and out-of-state (via car and/or plane pending on C&F’s budget & requisites) Structure: Contractor, part-time/seasonal Remote flexible leading up to the event days, onsite for event What you’ll love A fun, challenging environment with many opportunities for advancement Competitive compensation Remote flexible/flexible hours pre-event day Compensation: $25/hr Learn more and APPLY at clothandflame dot com
