Female singer needed for large band. We play music from bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Commodores, etc. Just about anything with a horn section. In addition to vocal ability, candidate must have good social skills and be able to engage audience. Ability to read music is preferred. This is not a position for a weak singer. Must be able to sing harmony parts and play hand-held percussion instruments also, like tambourine, cowbell, vibra-slap, guiro (fish), claves, etc. Congas and bongos would be a great asset. Band desires to add more R&B, Soul and Latin music to the set- Aretha, Joplin, Gloria Estafan, etc. Also wanting to add a few modern pop tunes- Happy, Uptown Funk, stuff like that. Goal is to play weddings, festivals, corporate events and private parties in North/ Central Alabama and West GA/ ATL areas. Band is made up of seasoned musicians. No time for drama, divas, booze/ drugs or mental cases. Rehearsals are in Pell City, AL. No guarantee of acceptance if you audition. No guarantee you will ever make a dime.
