One of the better drummers on CL is now off the market. Not in a band though, just done with Denver. It seems there are no decent opportunities here, and apparently there hasn't been in quite some time. It seems Denver musicians have become a bit too arrogant and selfish, and maybe a little too big for their britches. Maybe it was time to give up anyway. The venues don't pay worth a crap anymore. I suspect that has something to do with the terrible selection out there right now. Not many of you are making good music because you mostly seem to simply not care about other people's influence...y'all just want people to play what YOU want instead of working together to create innovative sound that's been put together using unorthodox methods and ways. You're just gonna flag this because you're offended by it...but that doesn't mean it isn't true. In fact, it is true and it's blatantly obvious. It's painfully clear that rudeness, selfishness, and greed have taken over here. It's just not worth it to continue. Which is a really sad thing to say. I just wish I had more time. There is so much good music inside of my brain and body and it will be difficult on me to ignore it moving forward. But I've dealt with this insanity long enough. You've inspired me to sell my thousands of dollars worth of gear and move that money into something more palatable. Still, I managed to compile a lot of good memories. I got to play in front of sold out crowds at globally renowned venues across the country. I got to play with some really good artists and get my name on some good records. My music career took me to some great places and I am thankful for that. But the time has come to hang up those proverbial gloves and call it a career. I don't live in LA for a reason. I don't live in NY for a reason. That may be where most of the talent exists in this industry, but it's also where bright, pure minds go to die. The grind destroys most who attempt it's haunting gauntlet. Said grind should not exist in the country's 20th market. I hope you guys pull your heads of your rears and fix the scene to reflect the promise this place had back in 2005-2015. Bring back the magic! Be nice to each other! And don't let the outsiders win! Denver was great until the outsiders took over. This isn't California, so don't let them Californiacate it. This ain't Texas, so tell them to go find their ex's, as according to the song, they remain in Texas.........
