Description

So-I know that you cannot throw a Martin D-28 (and who among us would) 20 feet in any direction without hitting a good bluegrass musician on the Front Range, but I thought I would give this a try. I have also tried the bluegrass picks at several places, but they never seem to quite lead to making the connections I am trying to make. I am an older guy but a very solid bluegrass guitar player (good lead player), who can sing lead well, and also has a good ear for harmonies. It is hard to define 'good guitar player' without seeming like I am doing a sales job, which feels uncomfortable, but for the sake of trying to give you some idea, I would say intermediate to advanced-as I understand those terms to be used in the bluegrass community in Colorado. Into a lot of different music-but a quick study and able to pick up a lot of your material quickly and efficiently, while bringing a few unique tunes into the mix-including some originals. Also can find my way around a mandolin or dobro for tunes that are not played at lighting speed (and own one of each). I would love to meet some local pickers who need to add someone like me into their project, or who would like to start from scratch but put in some consistent work to get up to speed and play out soon. I have a few MP3s that give you some idea of my ability-but honestly-playing live is always better and more fun, and I do not think you will be too disappointed if you extend an invitation to play some music. Anybody out there?
