Please type in the subject box: re: Manager (or Supervisor) candidate Position Overview: The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible to oversee our warehouse facilities, handling daily operations of crew, warehouse operations, operating and maintenance of equipment, inventory organization, handling and tracking inbound and outbound materials. The manager’s responsibilities directly handles the organization of the warehouse and operations and for the collaborative effort in developing and ensuring efficiencies within the department. This individual shall at all times uphold company targets: Team Commitment, Client Service, Quality of Operations Essential Job Duties: Hands on management ( this is not just a desk job ) • Has ability to operate work with crew at a productive (often fast) pace within time constraints to meet warehouse operations requirements, and tracks time efficiencies. • Oversees crew and equipment, coordinates with service operations and other depts. • Implements systems to keep warehouse areas organized and clutter free • Utilizes computer programs to track, adjust and maintain crew, safety, equipment and materials • Self-directed, provides constructive knowledge regarding pertinent issues such as safety, equipment and crew status to owners and mgmt. in a timely manner • Handles inbound and outbound materials • Receives and checks-in warehouse materials/equipment • Maintains and tracks budget requirements, research’s to ensure best price/products for warehouse operations. Implements cost reduction initiatives whenever possible. • Ensures good vendor relations, price and service. Reviews supplier qualifications and actively seeks best quality and value • Maintains and delegates work to ensure safety, cleanliness, proper functioning and orderliness of all areas including: warehouses, offices, parking lot and external properties. • Monitors workflow procedures …monitors weekly overtime and reports resolutions to Mgmt, takes appropriate action when required. Responsible for the safety of equipment and crew at all times and the handling of all materials within the facility • Assists with delivery/pick-up and/or coordination of delivery/pick-up of materials as needed • Assists and oversees owners personal properties and projects as needed • Any and all other job requests and assignments per management direction. Job Requirements: Various security checks required. Criminal background check, prior employment check and drug screening • Minimum 3 to 5 years similar management experience. •High School Diploma+ 2 year college degree/ or equivalent, job related education a plus • Bilingual English/Spanish • Strong attendance record, reliable • Mechanically inclined with previous knowledge of operating and repairing warehouse equipment • Resourceful, you are proactive, solution based and a creative thinker • Professional presentation both verbally and visually • Fork Lift Certification preferred • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing • Mental and physical ability to perform duties of the position • Ability to communicate fluently with owners, management and staff as well as customers and vendors • Ability to read and understand and process general job related documents • Ability to read and understand and process purchase orders, order forms and shipping/receiving documents • Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft programs, industry specific software’s and bar code scanners, internet • Ability to type 45+wpm • Ability to utilize general office equipment (multi-line phone, fax, scanner, copier) • Attention to detail/organizational skills, retains knowledge, takes and keeps good notes • Previous management experience is required Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, employee must be able to operate and transport materials / equipment (often 30 + pounds) to and from various locations. Capability to hold strong knowledge and caution of industry specific warehouse equipment in your care and what that entails, walk through the facility with company mgmt. and visitors and take and make critical safety decisions, ability to communicate via cell phone, face to face, email, phone calls, via the computer and some off-site work is required. Flexibility, bending and good motion are required while performing duties. May be required to sit or stand, walk or move various items for extended periods of time, use hands, arms, legs, etc. in repetitive motion are required while performing duties, handle objects, must have full ability to talk and hear with full function. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to handle various noise levels during warehouse operations sounds will fluctuate during the Work day. Safety equipment is provided and is to be utilized at all times. Team member should not hold sensitivities to smells, sounds or other items naturally indicative to the warehouse environment. Working Conditions: This position requires team member have a strong understanding of a warehouse environment and Uphold all safety requirements and proper protocols of operations to ensure quality work conditions. Be physically present in order to complete warehouse duties. They must be able to exhibit management Leadership and give direction to other team members when conditions change, for the safety of all.
