We are Chicago Drum Battery, a drum line that uses giant Brazilian drums and shakers to create hypnotic and chaotic beats ranging from Brazilian samba to funk to hip hop. We've been playing together since 2011 and have played all over Chicago in various clubs, festivals, and parties.
This band requires lots of people to play an assortment of instruments (that we already have, you don't need to purchase anything), so we are always recruiting. As long as you have some basic rhythm and sense of time, you'll be great. Come find and play the instrument that you never knew you loved.
Also, we can always use some skilled players (especially for the snare, we need more snare!), so if you want to relive your marching band days, we're the perfect band, and without all of the attitude your high school music teacher gave you.
We shoot for 2 practices a month (although I am personally always up for playing more, traditional instruments too), usually during the week one evening around 7.
All ages, genders, whatever. We are, and have always been diverse, laid-back, and into making people dance to the big beats.
