Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator

Description

Operates specified heavy equipment (Excavator) to remove earth as needed to create excavations. Coordinates with supervisor, and other crew members to accomplish collective goals related to the excavation and grading of earthworks and the installation of underground utilities. Administrative Requirements: trained to operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner. Ability to communicate effectively with crew members. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate motorized equipment (steering and controls operation). Vision and hearing sufficient to meet requirements (must be able to see immediate operations area and hear members of crew. Ability to sit for up to 9 hours a day. Ability to stand for short periods. Ability to climb ladder to operator’s position. Ability to assist in maintenance of equipment. Ability to carry light loads (up to 30 lbs) as needed for short periods. Hours: varied, primarily day. Conditions: Primarily outdoor work. Including in high heat/high humidity environments.
