Know Your Tools: Sept. 11th @ 1:15pmLearn about the main tools used in the sewing process, how to use them to your maximum benefit, and what tools work best for specific projects. Perfect for those looking to set up a sewing area in their home without wasting space or blowing the budget! Simple Seams: Sept. 18th @ 12pmThere's more to a great seam and edge finish than stitching a line and ironing it flat. Learn different seam finishes, how to properly press your seams, and how to get a professional finish every time! Pressing 101: Sept. 18th @ 1:15pmThere's "ironing" and then there's PRESSING. Do you know the difference? Learn to get the most out of your iron and board, and what pressing tools to consider when building your sewing tool chest. If not, use one of ours!What You Can Expect From This Experience Care and Feeding of your sewing machine Professional tips explained simply With these classes you will have the skills to make almost anything! You will receive confirmation emails for each class 24-48 hours after you have purchased the 5 class package. These confirmations will sign you up for reminder emails for each class, and also allow you to add each class to your calendar on your computer or smart-thingy, which we recommend. So watch for these in your email! Because this is a special offer and is a group package with a discount, THERE ARE NO SUBSTITUTIONS for classes or dates. If you have an emergency and must miss a class, you MUST CONTACT HISS STUDIO 24 hours in advance so we can reschedule you for the following month. FAQsWhere can I contact the organizer with any questions?Just send an email using this form, click on contact the organizer in the upper right of this page! Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?No, you can also flash your receipt on your smart-thingy when you arrive. What is the refund policy?Classes are non-refundable. We will do our best to accommodate last minute emergencies, but please be respectful of the instructors and fellow students and only reschedule when absolutely necessary. No-shows WITHOUT PRIOR CONTACT BEFORE CLASS for rescheduling will NOT BE RESCHEDULED and your ticket will not be repurposed. Please arrive 5 min early for class, arrivals later than 10 min from the schedule start time will be considered a no-show In order to be respectful and have a full class session for all, PLEASE arrive 5 minutes early for class. This allows time for setup and settling in so we can start promptly. The building is secured, so your late arrival means disrupting class for others to admit your entry. If you are later than 10 minutes to class, you will be considered a no-show, we will not pause class to unlock the building, and you will need to reschedule your class at your own expense. We have recently had many, many students showing up late to class, and it not only disrupts the class in session, but throws off the entire schedule the rest of the day. Please be respectful and be on time. The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?Yes, if you can't make a class or want to buy a class for a friend, that's ok. If you can let us know in advance, that'd be great, if not, make sure you or your friend can reference who bought the ticket so we know it wasn't stolen or hacked.
