The Jackson County Animal Shelter is Full Again! Low Cost Adoption Days! Once again, the Jackson County Animal Shelter adoption area is unfortunately filled to capacity with over 30 dogs of various breeds. These dogs need homes, the shelter needs space for future dogs, and surely there are good homes for these beautiful canines! If you're considering adopting a dog, please come by Friday and Saturday, August 12th and 13th,from 12 noon to 4 p.m., when the adoption fee for dogs 6 months and older is reduced to just $50 (a 66% reduction from the $150 standard cost). During this event, no appointments are required and all regular adoption, application, and screening processes remain in effect. The shelter is located at 5595 So. This event is made possible with the assistance of Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) which is paying the 66% difference in the adoption fees.
