This class will focus on threat engagements from inside and around a vehicle. The reality is law enforcement officers are more likely to face an armed threat from in and around their patrol vehicles, and officers need the ability to fight their way out and around. There is a misconception in the “old ways” of doing things that involve using your doors and or vehicle as cover. Real data has shown that vehicle doors and most parts of the car will NOT stop a round.
What parts of the vehicle will offer some protection, and what parts wont? What does vehicle glass do to ballistics and what deflection will it cause? What is the difference from shooting out of the windshield or into one? How do you survive an attack inside your patrol vehicle and how do you fight your way out?
We will train on all these questions and more during this vehicle course. We will be including multiple vehicles, movement and shooting and other drills to enhance your engagement skills and increase your survivability.
