The AHS Class of 2002 has secured Texas Tail Distillery for our 20 Year Reunion! The event will be Saturday, October 15 at 630! Music! Games! Food! Reminiscing! And drinks! Additionally, we will plan to attend the Alvin HS Varsity game on Friday, October 14! FAQ: Will this be kid friendly? The reunion will be adult only; however, families are welcome to attend the game on Friday night. Is this official homecoming for AHS? Official AHS homecoming is September 2. This is the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. The planning committee felt it was best to not plan an activity on the Saturday of a holiday weekend. So, this is the official homecoming for class or 2002! Why this venue? The committee felt a return to Galveston would play on the nostalgia of our Junior and Senior Proms on the island. Plus, this provides the opportunity for individuals to enjoy a venue owned by a family with ties to Alvin. Tell me about the venue: Texas Tails is a distillery but they have a full kitchen. They serve cocktails with vodka, whiskey and flavored moonshine. The variety of food and drinks will appease a wide range of appetites. Hotels: There are many hotel options around Galveston. It might surprise you to know that not all of 535 from our graduating class are on Facebook (I know shocking). We are also looking for great AHS alumni who own a photo booth! If you would like to help with other activity, send Melissa Ramirez a message. What are ticket cost? Tickets are $50 per person which will include food, drink tickets, music, and the venue. Can I sponsor? Yes! If you would like to sponsor, we will have sponsorship packages at $1000 and $250. This will aid with cost of the venue PLUS provide seed money for the next reunion. Send Jim Johnson a message on sponsorships. Will tickets be sold at the door? Honestly, probably not BUT we will sale till the day before. Silly question, my spouse/date/friend didn’t graduate from AHS in 2002, can they come? If they buy a ticket, yes. I went to school in Alvin but moved away prior to graduating, can I come? If you were set to graduate that year, we’d love to have you…but buy a ticket (or six). I was going to graduate in 2002 but I decided to graduate a year early. Can I come? Well, that’s a good one. Technically you aren’t class of 2002 and some would say a traitor to our class but yes, you can come.
