Description

We’re going to experience healing and some fun. Yes, fun. Remember that? Because having an ROGD kid doesn’t mean we stop growing and enjoying ourselves. We get started first thing in the early evening Friday September 16, which is why we recommend you arrive around 3 pm on Friday. We will wrap up with lunch Sunday September 18, so you can plan to head back home or to the airport any time after that. What’s the Retreat all about? BAD MOMS is not about how awful you are. It’s about moms going against the grain and empowered to do the hard things. BAD MOMS Retreat is about taking back your badass wisdom— what you already have and taking it to the next level. At this retreat you’re going to learn to connect with your ROGD kid and make better decisions with compassion, confidence and calm. It’s all in there, really. We’re going to take who you are, what you already possess, and reveal it anew. Maybe you’re grieving the disconnect and feeling overwhelmed by the trauma you’ve experienced— that things will never be the same. What’s keeping you from connecting? Your kid is indoctrinated and you’ve lost hope?Conversations devolve into heated arguments?Hate what this struggle has brought out in you? Friction with your spouse? Other kids struggling with losing a sibling? Not sure what to say and how to say it?Dealing with your own anger and self-blame?Losing friends? Lacking the skills to feel better and show up as the mom you want to be? …And no longer laughing and enjoying your life? You will go home with greater understanding and confidence, a solid action plan for self-coaching to move toward greater connection in your all your family relationships. YOU are a problem solver YOU can coach around the obstacles and your resistance that come up. The setting is a gorgeous 126 year old house formerly “Happiness” camp renovated into a beautiful inn and peaceful, restful setting. It’s the perfect intimate environment to think and move toward solving your most challenging problems keeping you from making the connection you truly desire. - Lodging Friday night and Saturday night included - All meals from Friday evening through Sunday lunch are included, along with beverages and snacks throughout the retreat (all served on site) But the REAL reason you want to be at this retreat is NOT this amazing setting. The REAL reason you want to be at this retreat is what you’ll uncover and unlock in yourself which goes so far beyond the few days of this retreat... The confidence to begin building connection and have as much impact and influence without sacrificing your integrity or belief in biological reality. It’s all about understanding where you currently are, what you want your relationship to be, and the coaching and strategy to begin to make it happen. Echo Mountain Inn was originally built as a home and then converted into a camp called ‘Happiness.' The rooms at the Inn are cozy and comfortable. Each has a name that expresses its unique character – from Rustic to Royal and Quilt Haven to Magnolia. They all have private baths and heat/air, TV, and wireless internet. Rooms in the 1930's wing even have real wood burning fireplaces. The amount for the weekend includes lodging in a private room at the Inn for 2 nights, taxes, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday. It also includes the evening activity on Friday and Saturday, as well as programming for the weekend. Dinner on Friday and Saturday are at the Inn restaurant. Please join us for a weekend of discussion, sharing, a real plan of action, and surely a cocktail or two! Refunds, etc: If you need a refund because you can't make the trip, we anticipate it will be fairly easy to fill the space, so it shouldn't be a problem. A note about the Eventbrite fees: We know, we also don't like them. We've experimented with ways to not have the fees apply, but have not come up with a good option. What we CAN do is give you a room credit for $35 for the venue to make up for the fee. Lisa Salamone will be joining us for this social-learning retreat. Lisa is a certified coach for moms who want to improve the relationship they have with their trans-identified child… for moms who want somewhere safe and strong to examine their stories, draft new ones, and choose their own experience. FAQs for this retreat (adding to these as questions come up!) Q. What is a retreat for Bad Moms even for? A. This is a time for moms who are making decisions that may go against the grain of what they are being told by almost everyone they encounter relative to their questioning child. (We have to avoid certain w o r d s here so that the bots don't eject us from the site...Being banned from things is definitely a major tenet of the Bad Mom credo, but it isn't very effective for information dissemination). Q. If I come to this retreat am I admitting to being a Bad Mom? A. Yes. At least in the badass way that we mean it. Q. Can I bring a guest? A. If it's another mom, yes. Q. I'd like to make this a family vacation. Can I bring my family? A. Not to the retreat, no, though having them meet you Sunday night and staying the week would be fun! This is a space for moms to bare their souls, share stuff that moms alone go through, and keep what is said in the mountains IN the mountains. So at the retreat, no. After - of course! Q. What if my kid is an adult? What if we're estranged? A. You're still a mom. This still applies. Q. What if I've already said yes to everything and my kid is happy, or what if I've said yes and now want to say no and don't know how to walk things back? A. Please, please join us. Q. Can I bring my own food and alcohol? A. Not positive about this one yet - we'll update you well before the event! Q. What are the evening activities? A. Working that out now - there's alot to choose from in this mountain resort area. We want it to be fun but also not distract from the retreat itself. Q. Is this a religious retreat? A. No, not especially, though we expect a mix of all walks of faith and welcome moms regardless of your beliefs, opinions, and path in the world.
