Description

Join US Brand Ambassador Neil Strachan for a guided tour through the exquisite Balvenie portfolio.Featured Scotch:Balvenie Doublewood 12 - To make The Balvenie DoubleWood, David Stewart MBE takes whisky that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whisky casks, American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, and moves it to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months. The whisky is then transferred to large oak vessels called “tuns” for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies from individual casks to “marry”.Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 - Matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. The traditional smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie married with notes of toffee and a hint of fruit, with a warm, lingering finish.Balvenie French Oak 16 - A vibrant single malt finished in casks previously held wine from the French Charentes vineyards. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine made from unfermented grape juice, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added and then matured.Balvenie 21 Year Portwood - a marriage of rare Balvenie is transferred to port casks, or pipes, which have held fine port wines. Here it is sampled regularly by The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE to ensure that just the right amount of character is imparted by the port casks, enhancing and developing the single malt whilst preserving its original characteristics.Balvenie 25 Year Single Barrel - The Balvenie Single Barrel Traditional Oak is characterized by subtle spices and rich honeyed sweetness. This 25 year old single malt whisky from a Single Barrel Traditional Oak Aged is unique and no more than 300 bottles will be filled from any one cask.Balvenie Tun 1509 #6 - Batch 6 showcases Malt Master David Stewart MBE’s expertise and stock management skills to marry 21 rare and precious casks from The Balvenie’s aged whisky stocks.
