Looking for a family dog

We are looking for an adult 25-50lb lap-dog that is very good with cats, is small pet safe (or could reasonably be trained to be), prefers mental enrichment over physical activity, and doesn't bark or howl frequently. Very open to a dog that needs frequent grooming! Our apartment does not allow dogs over 50lbs and does not allow bully breeds or (visibly) bully mixes, Rottweilers, Dobermans, or Huskies. Some breeds we have past experience with and would love to have are Greyhounds, Havanese mixes, Mini Poodles, and Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers. We don't have a fenced yard as we live in an apartment, but we have access to several dog parks and are searching for a dog that does not have high physical activity needs. We do have friends & family with fenced yards and other dog-friendly pups to play with on occasion! We don't have children, however we may visit family with children occasionally & while we'd *never* leave any dog unsupervised with a child, we do need a dog that has not shown any signs of aggression or fear when in the presence of young kids. Please email if you have or are fostering a dog that sounds like they could fit our family! Unfortunately we do have to be very selective due to disabled and young family members + other pets, but we would love to be able to give a pup all of the love we can. We would rather wait years to have a dog than take in one that ultimately would be incompatible with our family.
