About Niles: One of the 5 districts in the city of Fremont, Niles is a quaint little historic town filled with tree-lined streets, surrounded by beautiful hills and lined with several antique stores, eateries, cafes, and bars. Nick-named as the “erstwhile Hollywood” it used to be a stomping ground for the likes of Broncho Billy Anderson and Charlie Chaplin who shot and produced silent movies in the early 1900s. You can still find Charlie Chaplin gifts and memorabilia at the Niles Essanay Museum on Niles Blvd. There is even a train caboose parked in one of the parking lots which turns into a beautiful back drop for many photographers and TikTok dancers over the weekend. You can find more information about Niles on the “Things to do” page on their website. About Niles Main Street Organization (NMSA): The Niles Main Street Association is a non-profit, community organization devoted to historic preservation and economic revitalization of the historic Niles commercial and residential district of Fremont, California, in part through Association-sponsored community events that benefit the Niles District.
