Black. et al is the Yale School of the Environment's first student-led group specifically designed to meet the needs of BIPOC PhD students and postdocs. "Black." stands for BIPOC Leadership Alliance for Culture and Knowledge. “Et al.” symbolizes the myriad ways BIPOC students show up at YSE beyond their commitments as students. This organization is founded on the principles of well-being, scholarship, service, fellowship & belonging.
