WHAT IS KAMILI YOGA®?From the African Swahili word for “complete” and the Indian Sanskrit word for “union,” Kamili Yoga® teaches yogic enlightenment through the lens of African ancestry. It is a contemporary system rooted in the exploration of traditional Pan-African knowledge and concepts, from African ancestral practices across the Motherland to customs of Black descendants dispersed around the world. Kamili Yoga® addresses numerous needs: the need for more culturally diverse Yoga systems, the need for more Yoga systems that de-center Whiteness, and the need for more Yoga systems that celebrate the beautiful depths of Black and African being. Learn more about Kamili Yoga® at www.KamiliYoga.com. --------- ABOUT THE WORKSHOPThrough informative lecture, group discussion, and guided practice, students will explore how they can incorporate Kamili Yoga® into their everyday yogic lifestyle. The workshop is community-centered, meaning students are encouraged to openly engage in sharing and dialogue to support in one another's growth and learning. This is a safe(r) space exclusively for Black yogis. The offering is inclusive and affirming of all Black identities, body types, and skill levels. Yoga experience is NOT required. --------- REGISTRATION FORMATThe workshop has a unique format and will be adjusted to the number of students who attend: One student: Receive a private 60 minute sessionTwo students: Workshop a maximum of 2 hoursThree students: Workshop a maximum of 3 hoursFour students: Workshop a maximum of 4 hoursThis format helps to avoid cancellation due to low enrollment, and allows the offering to take place no matter the amount of registrations.
