Description
EXTREMELY URGENT EXTREMELY URGENT BOTH SWIRL AND DAISY WILL DIE AUGUST 7TH AT 5:00 PM UNLESS AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER STEPS UP TO SAVE THEM! LET’S NOT FAIL THESE DOGS!! THEY DESERVE TO LIVE!! Shelter information: MCACC East Valley Animal Care Center, 2630 W. Rio Salado Pkwy Mesa, AZ 85201 (Hours Mon-Friday 12-6pm and Sat-Sunday 12-5pm) SWIRL (ID #A4754423) is a 6-year-old, neutered, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier/Mix (57 lbs.). Swirl came into the shelter as a stray and was cooperative during his intake. Sadly, no one has come to get him and take him home. He is now so STRESSED that he is bounding off the kennel walls and has cut his muzzle on the gate. Volunteers say that Swirl is a “very, very sweet boy” that will sit calmly when approached to be taken out. He enjoys being petted all over and doesn’t mind being given a bath. Volunteers say that Swirl walks “really well” on-leash, and “sits” for treats, and takes them nicely. He has been non-reactive to dogs in the shelter. Swirl’s sociability with dogs has not been assessed, so he would need to be kept separate initially, with a SLOW introduction to the resident dog(s). It is recommended that Swirl gets to meet a potential adopter’s entire family before going home. DAISY (ID #A4754459) is a 5-year-old, spayed, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier (55 lbs.) She was wandering homeless when someone found her limping and brought her in overnight. Daisy got along with the adults and children in the home, but the finder indicated that she might be best suited for a home with older children. Daisy is extremely STRESSED! She is biting at kennel gate, panting heavily, and pacing. Volunteers describe her as a friendly, wiggly girl with a “sweet demeanor”! She likes attention and affection and leans in to get pets. She is easy all the way around…easy to handle, easy to walk, and easy to take from and return to her kennel. She takes treats gently. Daisy has been non-reactive to dogs passing by and when out walking. Daisy’s sociability with dogs has not been assessed, so she would need to be kept separate initially, with a SLOW introduction to the resident dog(s). It is recommended that she meets the entire family, and the children in the home are required to be 12+. PLEASE REMEMBER!! All these dogs have been living in a high-stress environment and will need time to de-stress and relax!! They will benefit from a predictable routine as well as ample exercise and time to play. Call with any questions.
