Esther Akins Biography Esther Atkins was born in Georgetown, Guyana. She moved to the United States as a teenager and graduated from Middleburg High School. She worked for Sears Service 18 years and was a construction office manager for 19 years. She has also held several offices in her church. Her favorite job is the one that changed her life, her Mary Kay business which she started on March 16, 2010. This is where she empowers women's lives, give them hope when life gives challenges. She has seen the Bible come alive and God blessing others. It is her reason for getting up each day. Esther earned her second diamond ring with Mary Kay. Together with her team, they are currently in a qualification process to become our own unit and earn the use of a career car. In the last three months, Esther added 13 new team members. Her ultimate goal is to be an International Sales Director with Mary Kay. Lynn MCarthy Biography Lynn McCarthy, CAPT, USN(ret), MBA, PHR and ABWA Member since 2010 After a career that saw her do Navy tours in Norfolk, Washington D.C., Santa Barbara, California (Commanding Officer) and Jacksonville, Florida, Lynn became the Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower and Personnel at Chief of Navy Reserve (then in New Orleans surviving Hurricane Katrina!). She subsequently retired as the Commanding Officer, Navy Operational Support Center Jacksonville in 2009. Lynn served a total of 36 years in the Navy where she specialized in Human Resources (PHR) and Navy Reserve Management. Eight years civil service in a variety of federal agencies and 2 years at Cal-State Airlines in Long Beach, California preceded her Navy time. Lynn did her undergraduate work at Case Western Reserve University and University of LaVerne and earned an MBA from Golden Gate University. She earned her Navy commission at Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. Since her Navy retirement, Lynn serves as a court appointed special advocate for children in Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit; on her civic association’s executive board; and as a Peer Mentor with the Wounded Warrior Project. For ABWA, she has served as the Orange Park Charter Chapter’s treasurer from 2011-2014; Scholarship Chair 2014-present; Best Practices Chair 2015-2017; President 2017-2019; Secretary 2019-2022.
