Description
10 month old mutt needs a new home. This is breaking my heart so please read to the end. Zues came to us as a 12 week rescue referred from a dog rescue that I used to train deaf dogs with. We were told he was an Australian Shepard mix, double Merle. Upon vet visit and DNA, we found out he's 100% medically deaf and 85% blind. He is also 25% rott, 25% pit, 25% miniature American Shepherd, 12.5 % Chow, and 12.5% Aussie. Zues has done fantastic with touch training and vibration training. But I have now returned to the office and when I come home he wants to attack anyone that will compete for my attention (this would primarily be with my husband's male blue healer). After tonight, I'm not willing to get in the middle of this anymore. Zues has been raised with bunnies, guinea pigs, cats, kittens, and dogs as I still work in rescue (even passed retirement after 22 years). He is extremely food motivated and is crate trained. Zues is a clown. He loves toys but as you can imagine, if he can't find a toy, walls, floors, not dog toys, work to chew on and entertain if he's left to himself. Zues is best friends with our Shepky (80 pounds) and our Chihuahua (6 pounds) and all 6 of my kids. He will chase the cats if they run (senses the movement) but will curl up and sleep with them too. He just needs a lot of guidance and no challenge for alpha male. He will lay his head in your lap for hours of pets and doesn't lick much at all. He sleeps on the floor right next to me and paces and throws my arm in the air if my sugars are too low from diabetes type 2 (show of his other senses being strong and his heart being big). Zues is a funny little clown and will come with all his vet records, his collar and tags, a personalized harness and leash. Zues can't be off leash and new places send him into a tizzy because he can't see or hear anything properly. He won't be your hiking dog, he can't run free on the beach but he will forever love you. Zues did suffer from paneostitis earlier this year which is apparently common in Rottweilers (bone swelling from rapid growth pains) and may have other occurances until he is 2 but I've saved you the $500 in xrays to find this out. He also has DNA precursors for macular degeneration and muscular dystrophy. He is almost 70 pounds and will talk to you in the car but does well on rides and small field trips/excursions. Zues's rehoming fee is $300 which is only 1/4th of what we put out this year to properly care for his first years medical, flea meds, food, crates, and additional training assistance. If you would like to meet him please send me a text because I want the best for him without my daughter and I being between dog fights and tears.
