Description
As a statement of peace and unity, Gwinnett Rotarians are hosting a luncheon on Wednesday, September 21st from 11 AM to 1:30 PM to bring the community together to celebrate this year's International Day of Peace.
The event will be held at Georgia Gwinnett College in the LVIS Room of the Student Center. Free parking will be available in parking lot 3000, with golf carts available for transport to the event center.
Registration will open at 11 AM. At 11:30 AM Georgia Gwinnett College President, Dr. Jann Joseph will launch the program with a welcome and reflection on the importance of peace and unity.
Jill Savitt, President and CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will offer the keynote presentation entitled "Truth and Transformation: How understanding the past can create an equitable future."
Other prominent speakers for the day will include:
Al-Karim Alidina, President of the Ismaili Council for the USA Susan Carroll, Rotary Peace Center Managing Director from Duke UniversityGerry Taylor, Rotary District 6910 Governor Wanda Weegar, President of the Rotary Club of Gwinnett CountyAntonio Molina will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Blessings of peace will be offered by members of the Indian Community. William Pu and Amy Chang Pu from the William Pu Music Academy will share a special musical performance.
Advance reservation is required. Cost for attendance is only $25 to help offset event expenses.
This event is open to the entire community. All are welcome!
