Sound Beginnings, a "mom-and-me" music class for kids age 0-4! Explore early literacy and music skills in a play-based environment that focuses on age appropriate learning and parent bonding. Our open house will be about 30 minutes long: join us in activities and games and the opportunity to ask questions. Parents participate in all the activities, so plan to be moving around a lot! **IMPORTANT**: When you RSVP, select the number of children you'll be bringing. Don't count yourself. Sound beginnings includes research-based elements that stimulate growth in the areas particularly crucial to the development of the young child. These music lessons for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers include singing, movement, games, stories, and activities, focusing on different concepts each semester. We also focus on relationships with others, especially each child's 'grown up' partner with whom we encourage intentional eye contact, trust elements and engaging interactions. 0-4 is the very best age to start learning music and making important brain connections! Every class includes movement based rhythm training (Eurythmics), vocal channeling and pitch development, fine and gross motor skill development through finger plays, instrument experimentation and play, full body movement while experiencing classical music themes, introduction or reinforcement of preschool skills like letters, sounds, colors, counting, and of course- a really fun parent bonding experience!
