I live in Vancouver and have noticed that the rents here are high just because we're north of Portland. With apartments starting at about $1000 and rooms for rent at about $600 or more. I looked at Seattle and the rent rates are consistently $200 less each. Starting with even some students studios for $625. And a whole lot of rooms for rent at $400/MO. I don't know if it's just because it's Oregon or because you're close to Portland. I just know that our rents are high because we are close to Portland.
