TDA Research, Inc is located outside Denver, Colorado with research offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden. We have a staff of 110+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. TDA has an opening for a Manufacturing Technician to produce sorbents and catalysts. Applications for the finished products include fuel cell protection, desulfurization, life support systems, and CO2 sequestration. Production quantities may vary from pounds to tons of finished product. Multiple processes are used, and include equipment such as mixers, extruders, hydraulic presses, tanks, and furnaces. The position is team-based, hands-on, and will require production at all scales. A successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail and excellent record keeping for further reproduction and scale-up activities. Handling and transfer of large amounts of material and chemicals will be required. Applicant should be able to adapt to introduction of new processes and materials, and multitask to complete multiple production processes and schedules concurrently. Previous experience in any of the following areas is beneficial: • Materials Manufacturing • Materials Development • Batch-based Processing and Production • Batch Control and History • Quality Control • Inventory Control • General Laboratory Record Keeping and Practices Additionally, familiarity with production flow and packaging, streamlining and improving production processes, and troubleshooting product and process issues are also beneficial. The candidate should have: • Ability to follow procedures accurately. • Team-oriented attitude. • Excellent safety and chemical hygiene practices. • Ability to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, and solvents. Some operations may require use of a dust mask or respirator. • Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand and walk for long periods. • Ability to climb and work from ladders. Preferred skills include: • Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles. • Eligible to be fork truck certified. • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Annual salary range: $20-$23/hour with full benefits package. No sponsorship is available for this position.
