Starting a small 3-5 housing membership intentional community focusing on cooperation & being self sustaining, by growing out own food, keeping a few goats or sheep & chickens. Having a community garden, & starting an orchard. Interested in people who are responsible, reliable, honest & ethical. Preferably healthy & organic. There is an immediate opening for an older farm house. It has been cleaned, but will need a new roof soon & at this point, has no heat, AC. Looking to install water heater & electricity to panel, but interior wiring is ungrounded. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath & an additional area & 2nd bath in development. Good sized basement. The immediate area is one of large hay & cattle tracts about 15 miles outside of Joplin MO (acreage was used for corn & hay). It has a large barn with an old chicken coop, a separate animal shed & pond. If you're seriously inquiring, please include the following information 1) How many people are included in your response 2) When are you needing a place? 3) Would you be wanting to rent or own a house on the property. Although eventually we may be renting shares in the acreage for gardening, priority will be to people living on the property 4) Are you wanting & capable of being self sufficient, or will you be looking for a job in the area? 5) Do you have experience in living in a co-housing, cooperative or Intentional Community? 6) Do you have experience in gardening, animal husbandry, soil management 7) What can you offer & what are you looking for, in this community?
