Join Community Connecting Us and Macramé artist, Jennifer Deckman, from Knot-maste Handmade Creations for a beginners Macramé class. This class, like all classes at Community Connecting Us, is Pay-What-You-Want with all the supplies included. Macramé is beautiful and extremely trendy right now, but did you know that this art form created in the 13th century is therapeutic in nature? Pulling and working the cords helps to strengthen both hands and arms and helps to loosen stiff joints. It is excellent for improving our spatial skills and our dexterity. This ancient art of repetitive knots used to create designs is calming and not only slows us down, but also our heart and metabolism, relieving stress we may be experiencing. It's meditative; bringing with it peace and calmness of mind, which benefits our nervous system. We hope you will join us in learning a new skill, making something beautiful and learning how to care for your body and mind. Class size is limited. At CCU we ask that if you sign-up, you show up!
