Join us for Parkersburg Paddlefest! This great weekend in Greater Parkersburg will start Friday, September 16th with a Free Glow Paddle up the Little Kanawha River from Point Park at 8 p.m. We encourage all participants to decorate their kayak with glow sticks, glow paint, battery operated lights. One white light is required on the bow of each craft. Overnight boat staging will be available to all main event participants. We will provide overnight security (Friday night only). Plan to arrive early, we will have live music and food trucks from 6-8 in the Welcome Center Parking Lot!
Saturday, September 17th is the main event on the Ohio River, which is closed to commercial traffic (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) for Paddlefest participants. Paddle from Point Park to the West Virginia side of Blennerhassett Island and land at the second ramp. Once there, participants will have the opportunity to explore the island and join in the activities awaiting them there before their return paddle.
Finally, on Sunday the 18th, Paddlers will have the opportunity to participate in a free parting paddle at North Bend State Park Lake. This event starts at 11 a.m. and put in will be at the Cokeley Run Boat Ramp.
