This is a great workshop for those looking into herbalism, salve making, and tincture making. The workshop will start with an introduction to native medicinal plants, highlighting common traditional medicines that were utilized by Indigenous communities across North America, as well as native fauna in Ohio. After a quick introduction we will then go hands-on and make our own hand salves and tinctures you can take home. This event was created to shine light on herbalism and the practices of traditional medicines as people are becoming more aware of the ancient practice and how they play a role in modern day medicines. The workshop will be led by a local Ohio University student, Layla Walter.
